Use these quick articulation and syllable screening forms to:
*Determine the presence/stimulability of phonemes and syllable shapes in single words.
*Consider typical second language learning processes for English Language Learners who speak Spanish as a primary language.
*Have children with special needs repeat words to determine if they can produce phonemes/syllable shapes in isolation.
*Determine if further testing is necessary or use to quickly monitor progress with children already on your caseload.
*Visually observe a student's abilities in an easy-to-read grid format, laid out in developmentally appropriate sequences of increasing complexity.
This is an outstanding qualitative measure that I use every time I complete an articulation assessment. I've used it with children as young as 2 years old with much more success than quantitative measures have yielded.
This document is very bare bones and provided in black and white, because I know how hard it is to get color printing in educational settings! :)
